I began my career underwriting life, disability and accident coverages for Hartford’s group benefits division, before managing their specialty A&H teams. I later built field underwriting teams and new products at a variety of roles with AIG, Liberty Mutual, and Berkley. Before joining Convex, I ran home office technical underwriting for AIG’s specialty unit and oversaw product drafting and development, which I particularly enjoyed. 

I am excited by the opportunity to build the A&H business at Convex. The company’s start-up energy, forward-thinking culture and emphasis on digital capabilities are its biggest strengths.

I began my A&H career with AIG in their San Francisco office in 2008 as an underwriter focusing on global medical travel and business travel accident products. After spending 3 interesting years at AIG, I moved to Chubb as their west coast underwriting contact for A&H and later promoted to the regional underwriting manager role. During this time, I have managed a team of underwriters, introduced new products to the market while expanded the growth of our portfolio. Fast forward to the beginning of Covid, I had the honor to return to AIG to lead their West and Midwest regions underwriting operations.  Prior to joining Convex, I was the Business Development Lead for AXIS’s A&H program business.

We work with US-based brokers large and small to place a wide range of risks. 

Many of these risks are straightforward. But where they’re more challenging, we guide our brokers through the complexities, and create specific products to solve them.

For example, we’re developing new products to address underserved markets in the trucking and fertility space with very unique needs for travel, medical expense, and disability management. We are partnering on reinsurance opportunities on novel approaches to employee benefits and leave management that the market has never seen before.

Finally, all our brokers receive an exceptional level of service and administration, backed by data and technology, whether they’re looking to place something standard or bespoke.

We’re a team of entrepreneurially minded underwriters who are looking to build lasting relationships based on trust. We apply our decades of experience and innovative digital  solutions to remove brokers’ usual pain points, such as slow billing and premium collection or poor technology in claims management.

On the digital side, we are developing products and partnerships whereby Convex can capture and analyze data in real time. By using this data, we will be able work with our brokers to spot trends months before what the competition can do.  This will significantly improve our consultative servicing to our brokers.
